As an aspiring videographer and filmmaker, I find the thrill of creating a story through moving images to be both highly enjoyable and satisfying. Below is a demo reel of some of my past work, there are three separate videos in the reel.
The first video was from my time working as a videographer for NC State’s student media. The video, which compiles footage from various NC State men’s basketball games, is my attempt to document the story of Division I collegiate athletics. The goal was to focus both on the game itself and on the other parts (the crowd, cheerleaders, dance team, coaches, halftime show, etc) that make the entire game an event.
The second video was a very quick edit of a men’s soccer game again from my time as a videographer for student media. The goal of that video was to create highlight of an event that could be uploaded to Twitter or Instagram. In today’s social media driven world, short content posts are king.
Finally, the third video is from my time working as a video intern for the James G Martin Center for Academic Renewal. In my role with the company, I help document argumentative and informative videos on a wide range of topics. My goal for this video was to take a “newscaster-esque” video and make it visually appealing. I focused especially on editing for the final video. Enjoy!
